We hope you are keeping safe and well. The impact of the pandemic is already being seen, with reported spikes in anxiety and low mood. As Government restrictions slowly begin to ease, we recognise that this may be a challenging and overwhelming prospect for some people. To try and support the North Somerset community with their mental health, we are offering a new online Emotional Coping Skills course, that will help people to have better emotional awareness and teach them valuable techniques, such as distress tolerance skills. This 6 week course starts on Tuesday 18th May, 1:30-2:30pm. Please email NSWellbeing@second-step.co.uk to book your place, or to find out more information about how we can support you clients.

Do you have emotions that feel difficult to manage at the moment? Do you find yourself using unhelpful coping mechanisms? This course will teach you a wide range of techniques and approaches to replace these unhealthy coping mechanisms and give you the opportunity to discuss each one, leaving you with a better understanding of what helps you in different scenarios.

Testimonial: A service user supported during lockdown – using emotional coping skills – said: “I have been experiencing short and long spells of anxiety and depression. The team have been really supportive and I have learnt new ways to manage my emotions better.”

If you have any questions, or would like further information about the course, please email NSWellbeing@second-step.co.uk or call 0333 023 3504.
