Mesmerising circus acts, theatre performances and dancing displays will be wowing crowds this weekend as a month of free arts and cultural events gets under way. Head down to Weston-super-Mare this weekend for the Whirligig Festival where you can see fantastic performances from homegrown and internationally acclaimed acts. Also keep your eyes peeled for the huge new murals being created on the side of town centre buildings for the urban paint festival, Upfest. More exhibitions, art installations and food festivals are also happening throughout September.

Earlier this week we made the difficult decision to suspend garden waste collections until at least mid-September due to the national shortage of HGV drivers. We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused and are working hard to fix the issue locally.

Schools are now back so we’ve also got an update on how the Covid risk will be managed.
