Guest Speaker: Kris Hallenga, Author of How to Glitter a Turd
One woman’s story of learning to live resolutely and well, while finding a way of surviving the unsurvivable. Kris will discuss her personal reflections about finding and building resilience, sharing some tips about how to the right care plan and support for you and describing how setting up the charity Coppafeel helped her re-write the story of her own cancer experience. The session should be entertaining (Kris is very funny!), educational and inspiring! Not to be missed!
|Cervical Cancer and the Benefits of Physical Activity|
|Mon 13th Sept – 1pm – Online Session|
Alisa Burke, cancer and exercise specialist, will explore how being active can help boost your immune system, reduce treatment side effects and improve cancer outcomes.
This session is part of a series of online sessions provided by Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.
|Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping)|
|Mon 13th Sept – 2pm – Online Session|
An interactive session where You will learn the basics of how to use Emotional Freedom Technique (E.F.T. or ‘Tapping’ ) to help release limiting self-beliefs, emotions and symptoms, in a group setting, visiting different themes each session. You will be invited to tap lightly on a series of acupressure points on the head, face and upper body, using one or two hands, which-ever is most comfortable!
|Flexibility and Balance Class (New Weekly Session)|
|Tues 14th Sept – 5pm – Online Session|
Join Alisa for a 45 minute group session to try gentle movement focussing on flexibility and balance.
Try out whole body stretches finishing with a relaxation technique to open those tight muscles and leave you feeling more relaxed.
This class is open to clients, their supporters and anyone whose life has been affected by cancer.
|Lifestyle Medicine and the South Asian Population|
|Tues 14th Sept – 7:30pm – Online Session|
Toral Shah, founder of The Urban Kitchen is hosting these series of talks exploring the experience and impact of cancer in the South Asian community.
Focusing on diet and lifestyle, this series of events will explore how we can improve the impact of treatment and its outcome as well as minimise the risk of cancer reoccurrence. The sessions will explore the emotional impact of cancer and will be supported to make practical plans to help you manage the impact and live well with cancer.
This programme is centred around four South Asian-specific nutrition and cancer talks taking place between September and February, which will be delivered in both English and Gujarati/other South Asian language and Hindi explanations. Each talk will last around 45 minutes and include 15 minutes for Q&A at the end.
|Online Healing Retreat|
|Tuesday 14th September 9.45-4.30pm|
Monday 11th October and Tuesday 12th October – 9:45-4:30pm, for people with a stage 4 diagnosis
Roz and Michele will guide you through a range of mindfulness exercises and creative writing, connection to nature, yoga nidra, and of course Healing Circles, to tap into the wellspring of nurturing and support that is available.
Cost for September: £25, which includes a £5 donation to Penny Brohn UK.
Cost for October: £50, which includes a £10 donation to Penny Brohn UK.
|Wellbeing Day at the National Centre|

The day is open to anyone affected by cancer and is your opportunity to join us for a programme of restorative and relaxing group sessions led by our wellbeing team. There will also be plenty of time to explore our beautiful gardens, connect with others and enjoy a delicious and nutritious lunch fresh from our own kitchen.
