Human activity is warming the Earth’s climate at an unprecedented rate and drastic action is needed to avoid the worst consequences. This was the stark warning issued this week in a landmark report written by hundreds of scientists from around the world. There is hope for the future though – if we act fast and work together to cut emissions of greenhouse gases. We want North Somerset to be a cleaner and greener place for people to live, work and enjoy. In Portishead, a flagship rapid charging hub for electric vehicles has now opened to charge EVs in under an hour. In other news, the rules on self-isolation for coronavirus contacts changes next week so make sure you’re up-to-speed on what you need to do to help keep yourself and loved ones safe. Also this month, don’t miss your chance to have your say. There are just a few days left to tell us what you think about our new recycling and waste strategy and the route of Banwell’s new bypass. |
