For a long time it felt like Black Inclusion was a fight that we had to fight on our own, this was something that we didn’t talk about enough and certainly not outside of our community. The engagement, interest and active support to make Black Inclusion Week a reality has been inspiring, so many of us; as individuals, allies, groups and organisations want to Be The Change. We want to make Black Inclusion a reality.

Black Inclusion Week is so important it serves as an annual reminder, a nudge, an opportunity to recommit, re-energise and take those actions that really make a difference.

We have a fantastic line up of events which will engage us, give us an opportunity to share, to gain more insights, to learn and to connect behind a common cause. I hope you will join us as individuals, groups and organisations as we commit to Be The Change and create inclusion for all. Join us for Black Inclusion Week.

Aggie Mutuma | Black Leaders & Black inclusion Week Lead
Welcome to the UK’s very first Black Inclusion Week! We have a whole host of inclusive organisations, community groups and educational establishments taking advantage of this annual celebration to host their very own engaging events, focusing on the importance of Black Inclusion. It has been simply fantastic to see so many passionate individuals and organisations wanting to make a profound difference for the equality of black people across the UK and the world. We are thrilled to see so many organisations participating in Black Inclusion Week and hosting their own events. If you haven’t signed up to take part, don’t worry there is still time! Please visit the Black Inclusion Week website for more information.  When Fiona Daniel and I first thought of the concept of Black Leaders it was designed to implement systemic change so that institutions and communities can have fair and equal opportunities when it comes to employment, education and standard of living. Over the past 12 months, over 100 incredible volunteers have signed up to help Black Leaders grow, and as a result we now have 4 groundbreaking initiatives that organisations can get involved with! These include the annual Black Inclusion Week, the definitive Black Inclusion Index in partnership with the brilliant team at NielsenIQ, the Black Leadership & Empowerment Programme in association with The Open University, and last but not least we have a brilliant toolkit for the education system which allows teachers to learn about cultural identity, black history and what racism looks like. A special thanks has to go out to the fabulous Aggie Mutuma and her team of volunteers for their dedication in developing Black Inclusion week, along with so many Black Leaders volunteers and also my incredible Inclusive Companies Team that have been instrumental in driving Black Leaders forward! I would also like to thank all of the Black Leaders Partners for supporting this campaign and putting black inclusion at the forefront of their values. Together we are stronger, together we can make a change, simply for EQUALITY!

Black Inclusion Week – Introduction to the Black Inclusion Index TODAY @ 14.30 – 16.00
Black Leaders are proud to deliver our launch online event about our Black Inclusion Index. This was established in 2020 to bring clarity and to provide factual evidence and information on the levels of Black employees at senior levels across a range of business sectors in the UK. Until now there has been no clear evidence to indicate the levels of inclusion of Black employees at senior levels. In light of calls for improvements in diversity, inclusion and equality across all areas of society there is a need to ensure that Black employees are not left behind. The Black Inclusion Index is a means to measure this inclusiveness. During this event, we will be answering important questions such as: How would companies benefit by being part of the Black Inclusion Index? How will the Black Inclusion Index measure success? How can you get involved? Please do join us and encourage others to participate too.
