100 days to go! Inter Faith Week is about highlighting the contribution of faith groups to society; spotlighting inter faith cooperation and understanding; and encouraging dialogue between those of religious and non-religious beliefs. It’s a fantastic platform to share, learn and build relationships with neighbours, colleagues and service users of different backgrounds, and to come together in service for the common good. Taking part Join the thousands of people who will be taking part and the hundreds of organisations: such as: faith community bodies, belief groups, inter faith initiatives, schools, colleges, universities, youth organisations, hospitals, hospices, national and local government, housing organisations, voluntary organisations, workplaces, the police and other emergency services, chaplaincies, the armed forces, sports organisations, media outlets, museums and libraries. If you’ve not yet started planning, August is a great month to start to think creatively about activities that can benefit from being part of the Week and can bring something special to the Week! You’ll find lots of activity ideas at: https://www.interfaithweek.org/resources/ideas. What might you do? Perhaps a learning activity, a multi faith Remembrance event, inter faith sports match, an inter faith art, poetry or photography competition; a jointly crafted special quilt or banner; a video message from faith leaders and/or particular figures in your organisation; a special dialogue; a quiz or speed-faithing event? Or maybe be a special environment/climate change focused event linked to #COP26 (which will have just taken place); an ‘Inter Faith Buddies’ scheme; social media video clips of interviews with chaplains of different faiths; an inter faith ‘bake off’; an inter faith pilgrimage/peace walk; a physical or virtual tour of some local places of worship; a video about your organisation’s inter faith activity; a learning session about beliefs and practices of a particular faith; or a classroom session or week-long series exploring how people of different faiths and beliefs live, learn and work in Britain today? There are so many possibilities, those are just a few! ![]() |
Add to the buzz: let us know about the activity you are planning! |
We maintain an interactive map and calendar listings which show events happening as a calendar list, and by town/city across the country. This adds to the buzz of the Week and helps media and others know about what is going on. If you arrange an activity, please do take a few minutes to submit information at: www.interfaithweek.org/submit. If your event is a ‘closed’ one – for example a training session in a workplace or a classroom activity – there is a place on the form to say that and we would still love to list it! If you submit your activity on the website, you will also be eligible to receive a free Inter Faith Week branding pack (see below). |
Inter Faith Week branding and resources |
Free Inter Faith Week branding packs containing a poster, flyers, a social media message card and stickers will be available from early September to those submitting their activities to the Inter Faith Week website. You can also download the Inter Faith Week logo, flyer, poster and other branding materials at www.interfaithweek.org/resources/publicity-and-branding. The Inter Faith Network’s main website www.interfaith.org.uk has lots of useful short publications which are great to use when you are setting up activities or initiatives. Details of IFN’s online ‘Inter Faith Buddies’ scheme can be found at: www.interfaith.org.uk/resources/inter-faith-buddies. It’s ideal if you are unable to travel far or to meet in person and would like an opportunity to dialogue with a person of a different faith or belief in the run up to the Week. |
Please use #Interfaithweek on posts about the Week, tagging @ifweek on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. |
