Dear All

As you are probably aware Census Day was last Sunday, 21 March.   It is really important that we have a good completion rate within North Somerset as Census data is used to determine a huge range of local services and funding allocations. From the number of school places available to health and social care planning to roads and transport; Census data is vital, particularly in ensuring that all equality groups are getting fair access to our services!    To truly understand and provide services for all of our communities we need people to complete their Census.   We would be really grateful if you could circulate the attached press release amongst your networks, social media platforms and websites and encourage everyone to complete their Census.  Please note that the press release also has the contact details of sources of help for people completing the Census.  It is really important that people are supported to complete the Census as there could be a potential fine for non-completion.  It is worth reminding people as there is still a couple of weeks to return it.    If someone hasn’t received an electronic access code or a paper questionnaire (some areas will automatically receive a paper copy) they can request a code or a paper questionnaire at https://census.gov.uk/   Thanks again for your help, let’s make Census 2021 the best yet.

Kind regards

Louise Roberts
